18 MARCH 2021 Sale Information

Dear Friends,

Yippee, our mop-headed leader has spoken so we have booked a FURNITURE sale for the 15th April.  I will write to you further nearer the date. Viewing will be by appointment and bidding will be online.  We have no space here for general attendance at the sale. It will include jewellery, art objects, silver and plate if any has come in, and collectables.

In the meantime we are going to hold an auction on Thursday 18th March to include all our shelves and about 100 lots of pictures. Again it will be online with UKAuctioneers.com

Hopefully in time, we have a very extensive Egyptian 900 standard silver dinner service for twelve, of heavy gauge, including several serving and entree dishes, finger bowls, plates, side plates, etc., and a very large covered serving dish. From the same vendor we also have a very stylish 1970s Piaget 18 ct gold gentleman’s wrist watch, on bracelet.

The shelves are full and hold the usual mix of the good, the bad and the ugly. One thing we have more of than is usual is telescopes.  One of our deceased clients was a mad enthusiast for the stars and we have a large number of modern reflecting telescopes by Meads (model DS-127EC) Orion (Skyquest XT6 that has a barrel that’s 117 cm long) and others. The problem we have is that we really don’t know if they are complete.  And we have endless tripods and stands and boxes of small lenses.

Here’s a part list of the TABLEWARE we have:  Booths Real Old Willow ‘The Majestic Collection’, Royal Albert ‘Old Country Roses’, Wedgwood ‘Celebration of the Millennium collection’,  still boxed, Johnson Bros ‘Bordeaux’, Royal Worcester ‘Hyde Park’ (if you could melt the gold you could retire!), Royal Doulton ‘Belvedere’, Limoges by Haviland and other Limoges, Rosenthal ‘Studio-line’, Minton ‘Shalimar’ and early 20th century traditional tea ware by Minton and Cauldon and more including a nine-piece Ridgeways pre-Victorian dessert set with hand-painted floral decoration.

We have a shelf of antique GLASS and shelves of traditional and modern table glass. We have a shelf of modern Moorcroft and a shelf of Royal Crown Derby animal figures including birds, fish, hedgehogs etc.

There are large quantities of CAMERAS, computers including HP, Apple and Rexel, a modern printer by Brother, an old and large reel to reel tape recorder, a Bose radio and speaker.

We have a fantastic Victorian Black Forest antler double wall hook with musical movement carved as a fox dressed in hunting clothes. Also vintage Chancay type Peruvian cloth dolls.

The RECORDS include jazz, classical, rock and pop, musicals, soundtracks and spoken word including comedy.

Not to mention the Le Creuset pans, the group of modern ceramics by David Lloyd Jones. an Empire mantel clock and other CLOCKS, a box of carved wood decorations, old boxes, a pair of carved ivory table lamps, a modern metal dish by Carrol Boyes, four cellos, a violin, good modern bikes, stuffed birds in cases, VIctorian and later worked hearts and similar, fur coats, Persian pottery, Koftgari Damascene metalware, WMF metal ware etc.  It’s endless.
