We are DELIGHTED to include with our March sale, the contents of an antique shop, following retirement of the owners. And not any antique shop but that one called JOHN CLAY ANTIQUES, which for 49 years has entertained the world with the eclectic style with which it was synonomous. Situated at 263 New Kings Road, SW6, just by Parsons Green, it was for ever a joy to visit with that mixture of the old and the modern covering all subjects – paintings, ceramics, books, lighting, curiosities, silver, modern art and, of course, furniture, John Clay’s primary love, which brought him into this world as a restorer bar none, all those years ago.
We will offer all his lots at the beginning of the sale in no particular order. They can be viewed online from the 6th March with UKAuctioneers.com and Saleroom.com as well as on our own website. To view in person you will need to visit his shop, with public viewing on the 8th March 11am-1pm and Wednesday the 9th 1-7pm. That is also where the clearance of lots will take place. Parsons Green station is on the Wimbledon (green) district line and with a plethora of cafes and pubs all within the 5 minutes’ walk to the shop, it’s a guaranteed good day out.
