Due to a bad debt, we have taken delivery of the most phenomenal collection of designer clothing and accessories, the property of one couple and purchased over the last few years. As you might expect, her clothes far exceed his but he didnt do too badly with about thirty suits and jackets. Madam, on the other hand, did not spare the plastic and we have racks of clothing, shoes and accessories. She had a particular penchant for handbags. Nothing new there then! Her labels of choice include Valentino, Gucci, Hermes, Versace, Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves St Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Prada, Escada, Givenchy, MiuMiu, Lanvin, Christian Lacroix, Dolce & Gabbana, Adamo, Sonia Rykiel, Celine, Boss and Louis Vuitton. Other entries include a large quantity of furs.
Elsewhere PICTURES & PRINTS, artists incl. Henry Barnard Chalon, Hogarth, Donald Ayres, L.S, Lowry, T. Hodgson Liddell, H. Willinich and C. Leslie. SILVER is a huge section covering all the usual subjects and plate is also well represented. In the JEWELLERY section we have the most amazing quantity of interesting costume jewellery in big lots from the stock of a deceased dealer. CLOCKS includes an Atmos clock in original box.
SHELF ITEMS incl. Lalique and Baccarat, Christofle, traditional cut and coloured glass. Porcelain incl. Spode, Doulton, Villeroy & Bosch, Denby, Rosenthal, Noritake, Shelley, Copeland and Garrett, Beswick and Meissen. TOYS incl. early Dinky, a Mamod steam engine, boxed games. COLLECTABLES incl. old cameras, old tiles, military radios and storage boxes, old scent bottles, suitcases, saddles, Japanese carvings, an ivory chess set, swords, clarinet and guitars, Astor car radios still boxed, a silk top hat 7.5″, coins and cigarette cards, a magnum of Emeritus 1997, signed photographs, and three special leather-bound volumes incl. signed photographs detailing the Harringay Tigers 1935. BOOKS.
Good ORIENTAL CARPETS. FURNITURE is a particlularly small section this time, but incl. a good Victorian walnut and ebony inlaid pedestal table, a Victorian walnut games table, an inlaid Italian chest of drawers, 19th C chair set, etc. GENERAL EFFECTS incl. phenomenal silk curtains, modern flat screen televisions, Cabasse and Bose speakers and an Audio Research valve amplifier.
