NOTICE OF AN AUCTION OF ANTIQUES, COLLECTABLES & GENERAL EFFECTS
ON THURSDAY 8TH DECEMBER 2011 at 11AM
VIEW: 7TH 1-7PM AND SALEDAY FROM 9.30AM

As I prepare to write this notice a gentleman has delivered about 60 good press photographs he saved from a skip. They all deal with WW2 and include all the A-list stars along with the war cabinet, scenes from the Pacific, American marines on the Iwo beachhead, Chinese infantrymen on the Salween front, Poles being frisked for weapons, a ruined Norwegian military transport train after German bombing – all sad and poignant.

We have cleared lots of interesting properties recently including the home of a past chairman of Crown Derby, a wonderful flat in Little Venice, two retired dealers, one from Westbourne Grove who dealt in Oriental art, and a large local property that includes an immaculate Ford Popular that cost £6000 6 years ago. It is to be sold without reserve.

A very exciting entry is a personal letter signed by Charles Dickens and written to Taylor Sinnett Esq., who we believe might have been a literary agent. We also have a letter, in French, from Louis Blanc and signed. With the lot are early research notes and 4 charming watercolours by Paul Braddon who illustrated a Dickens topographical book. They are of street scenes relating to Dickens stories. The estimate is £400-£600.

PICTURES include Alan Howells, Gillian Harris, Adolphe Ragon, R. Simm, D’Oyly-John, Eric Rolfe, Helen Bradley, Alexander Creswell, Vincent Haddeley, Jonathan Coudrille, F.E. Jamieson, A. Dyson, T.W. Ward, K.A. Coates, A. von Benning, Z. Skompka, Diana Lowe, Michael Goymour, Vivien John,  & Elsie Henderson.
