Another great sale is coming together combining numerous probate instructions with private entries.  From a lovely home locally we have a very sexy 19th century marble sculpture of a maiden signed S Cali (109cm). She’s a match for Pippa Middleton any day!  A 19th century romantic terracotta group of a maiden and sheep is signed Carrier Belleuse (94cm) and for the ladies we have a bronze of Narcissus, circa 1900 (61cm). Another home has provided lots of patinated garden ornaments including figures and pots.


PICTURES include Edward Bird, Norman Dickinson, Katharine Dickinson, David Eddington, Alex Prowse, C Pearson, C M Daintrey, Charlotte E Newlyn, John Townshend and Elena Gaputyte. There is also a large colourful papier-mache bust of Carmen Miranda by Katharine Dickinson. JEWELLERY is a large section including rings, one with a large sapphire, a diamond bow brooch, a large cameo and lots of gold including sovereigns. SILVER AND PLATE includes an extensive silver cutlery service and a tea service by Mappin & Webb.

PORCELAIN, POTTERY AND GLASS fill the shelves with good Clarice Cliff, Susie Cooper, two Beswick turkeys, Royal Crown Derby, including a pair of painted vases, Herend, Minton, Wedgwood, Capo di Monte, Lladro, Doulton Dickens figures, Whitefriars, Waterford drinking glasses and fruit bowls and a large etched 19th century goblet on twist stem. OBJECTS OF INTEREST include old enamel signs including Lyons Tea, Wood Milner and Reckitts, a Stanley bakelite cylindrical calculator, a Negretti & Zambra portable microscope, a mandolin by Jerome Thibouville-Lamy, Paris, samplers, a golly badge collection, 19th century floral painted papier mache tray and pedestal table, Victorian boxes and writing slope, a Victorian painted truncheon, hand cuffs and whistle, a 38” silk top hat in original box, a bottle of Krug, boxed, pink lustres, old brass, spelter figures, decorative telescopes, a period Lever’s Toilet Soaps pyramid display cabinet.

WEAPONS include WW2 swords, one Japanese, helmets and caps incl. Japanese and German, a captured pair of Japanese binoculars, bayonets, Kukris and other knives and a pith helmet. TOYS include model cars by Maisto and Burago, Hornby Type 501 tinplate rolling stock and track, in boxes, an Astra mobile searchlight with box. BOOKS include Seven Pillars of Wisdom (1935). STAMPS and first day covers by the thousand. POSTCARDS and COINS, ORIENTAL CARPETS.

Good CLOCKS include ormolu mantel clocks and a Georgian mahogany longcase, the brass face by Matt Wylie of Paisley. FURNITURE includes a good entry of Georgian – corner cupboards, pedestal tables, wash stand, games tables, linen press. We have a superb R-egency inlaid breakfront sideboard, 19th century chair sets, a Wm IV credenza, a 19th century Continental pine bombe chest with cupboard top, a Continental country plank top sideboard, pine dressers, a Riley table top billiard game and, from the 60s, a large extending rosewood dining table and 8 chairs by Moller. GENERAL EFFECTS include white goods, a new hedge cutter, etc.
