13 DECEMBER 2018 Sale Information

Dear Friends, So I said to Joe, why don’t you open a gents’ hair dressing salon next door to the saleroom and serve my clients?  So that’s what he’s done and very smart too.  It’s called a Gentleman’s Lounge and if you take a catalogue in he will give you a 15% discount and a cup of coffee.  He has great music playing. As for our auction, we have a real cracker for the last sale of the year.  Another 900 lots of fresh-to-the-market goods.  Continue reading →

Dear Friends, It’s that time again!  Bainbridges are about to hold an auction of more new to the market and mainly unreserved lots.  Just like the oil painting in the last sale, by Albert Moor, a still life of flowers.  It fetched £19,000 plus premium. I can’t say I expect results like that this time, but the PICTURES section is full, and includes works by Michelangelo Maestri, Pierre Grist, Hottenhamer, Brian Davis, Henry Young Alison, Barry Raynor, David Gentleman, Carl F. Felkel, Benjamin Williams Leader, Continue reading →

Dear friends, There really is no predicting what you might find in a Bainbridges auction and this is going to be one of my favourites. From two separate probate instructions we are delighted to present to you lots of small items, the silver known as ‘toys’ the rest as objects of vertu.  The silver ‘toys’ are fine examples of their kind and date from the late 17th century, including a pair of twin-arm wall sconces and a pair of candlesticks through cutlery, tables, pans, to Continue reading →
